The design of these chairs was born in the 1950s by two great designers. Their goal was to create furniture with characteristics close to that of luxury, but accessible to the largest number of Americans. It should be remembered that this idea came after the Second World War. They were noticed by having this idea on the accessibility to the greatest number but also by their choice for materials more solid and resistant in time.

So they were inspired by the U.S. Navy's furniture and were even approached by it. Originally, the hull was molded and made of fiberglass. A material classified as a pollutant that is no longer used today and is replaced by polypropylene. Traditionally, chairs are composed of a backrest and a seat. It was a revolution when designers proposed a single shell at the time.

His base, made of wood or steel, gives him the nickname of "Eiffel" chair by its geometric visual and its braces that remind us of those of the Parisian iron lady. The chair meets exactly the criteria that the designers had set: solid, light and pretty. This will make them win a competition organized by the famous MoMa. More than 6 years later, the design is still a success and we find these chairs everywhere in homes, offices, schools, companies. Available in several colors, the Eiffel chair is offered at Nüspace as a dining chair without or with arms, as a counter stool or as a rocking chair.
