- To set up your umbrella, lay the canopy half horizontally on a stable surface. Take the bottom pole and gently screw it into the top half of the umbrella, making sure the threads are aligned. If you encounter resistance, stop and apply some lubricant to the pole. Once assembled, place the umbrella into the base. DO NOT try to screw the two halves of the umbrella upright. If it is a snap connection, simply click together.
- In gusty conditions, Basil Bangs recommends lowering the umbrella to avoid the risk of it blowing away.
- It seems obvious, but don't leave your umbrella unsecured.
- Make sure the umbrella is dry before storing to minimize the growth of mold.
- Store the umbrella in a dry environment to prolong its life and minimize wear and tear.
